Car journey into Isleworth past Sunbury and Hanworth in 1984
Moved to Kingston Avenue back in 1982 my parents still live there Bedfont has changed so much. Much preferred it in 80s/90s.
1:17 - The shithole that was Page Road on the left. Lived there for four years. Full of reprobates.
My nan lived in Northumberland crescent
Again thanks for posting only took me ten years to find it , great memories
Well that was a trip down memory lane , thanks for posting Pat , I was glad to see no trees on the grove as i remember it , still nostalgic for me to visit
my old childhood home 144 at 3:23 opposite Gumley house school. Behind the very large advertising signs was my garden. It was massive going the whole length of the alleyway.
Nice bit of history there 😁 thanks for sharing!
Common for hawks to be fearless when rodents are active during harvest.
My nan and grandad used to live down west road. Spent so much time in Bedfont back in the day. Cheers for the video! Nice shot of the crooked billet pub too.
It was quite lovely back then. Sparrow farm.
Moved to the farm in 66 left 2006. Its now a dumping ground for immigrants
This bird is beautiful but unfortunately it is very sick this can be seen around the beak and from its behavior which is not… .normal!
A smashing video sir. I felt that you were respecting him/her, and I hope you are right that it was the one you helped :)
Good old days, love seeing all those cars, and clean roads and much more space, todays its all cramp and bicycle lines and smaller roars and ugly cars of todays and trash on roads litter, and so many flats and buildings that look like card board boxes life is just so miserable and dull now compared to 80s and 90s era.
again you are as good as saying the far right are justified in their racist views as right wingers and being from a minority yourself that makes no sense to me absolutely whatsoever
@@ashfrank5372 how am I racist I haven't even said anything about people or race in my comment in here I'm talking about time and how good those days where how better things where I haven't even said anything about racism or people, yet people have changed alot and some are more rude then before but that's nothing to do with race.
@@hassankhan384 i didnt say you were and i know with a name like yours on youtube how can you be racist if you are from a minority group yourself all i meant was that the white racist english people reading your comments will feel justified in being racist if a person such as yourself from a minority group more or less agrees with their views that society was better back then because its them that associate it with a lot more english white people and a lot less immigrants asylum seekers refugees foreigners in comparison to todays bedfont and feltham almost being as racially mixed as hounslow and southall now is as is heston and cranford and isleworth and brentford
@@ashfrank5372 yeh I know I'm British asain and I dont say because anyone else saying it, I'm saying this because I see it my self that those times where better people got along with each other better even though racism existed then and today, but humans where more friendly more caring, and society took pride now you can't even get along with your neighbours and even your own family, it's all for benefit and not care.
@@hassankhan384 yes i actually agree with your views and that society that is a lot worse now then it was in the past and i am not relating it to any racial group ether but unfortunately some racist whites will take what you said out of context to justify their racist views is all i meant by what i said
i am so glad that i'm not the only person who does this (takes videos in the car of whats outside while we're going along) i did one from chertsey to cornwall about 10 years ago lol
Some of it is chertsey and shepperton
Only 1 tree left now from the clip at 24seconds
Really love seeing these videos, everything looks so different! There's too many buildings now!!!
It has changed a lot but still plenty is familiar
@@pathutch1 i still recognise bedfont i lived just off the bedfont high street 1989 down the road from that little church hall that is still there , and moved to i think was called new road almost opposite that church , hounslow has changed i seem to recall the buses used to go through the entire high street i can see it is now mostly predestinised but that's like most high streets now
I lived in Beech Road from 1981 to 1996, was a great trip down memory lane. Especially the drive down Grovestile Way to the pits at the bottom. Spent many a day in the summer over the old pits on my bike with other kids building camps and starting bonfires. It brought back memories of how the roads have been altered. Feltham is a bit of a dump now, overspill from Hounslow .
Glad to bring back some memories for you. My husband lived in Cedar Road and we bought our first house in Longford Avenue
And now you couldn't pay me to live there.
Yep, feel the same
Gosh that brings back a few memories for me, particularly towards the end, driving down A316 & turning onto Twickenham Road towards Isleworth, passing the old MFI & trading estate (behind which is Twickenham Rugby Ground & the big Tesco superstore with new housing); then Old Isleworth, war memorial, The George Pub (now no more) & Gumley House Convent School on the right & turning right up World Road towards Hounslow... memories!
is made before thorn security was demolished
It was made when the building was still DER, at least two or maybe even three years before Thorn Security took it over.
Wow I’ve lived in sunbury since 1988 when I was born 30 yrs ago from now and never pictured it like this! Weird how i expected it to change but a lot is still the same! Nice one matey! Love seeing history, thanx
I myself prefer to observe just that bit further away and respect the creatures space. No need to keep pushing `til you find the limit. I agree with others that it`s not 100% fit
Great video Pat.
That's incredible! Thanks for sharing.
That is URS truck passing at 3:20 my dad drove one from 81 to 89, we lived in Hanworth oriel estate in 84, so this could well be me and my dad in the truck, so freaky
Just used this to identify the bird I saw in my back garden in south London half hour ago. Exactly the same. It came down to the bird feeding station where seconds before around 20 tree sparrows were feeding. They all disappeared into the hedges and this Sparrowhawk just appeared. Never seen one as close. Great video.
I'm only 4 years late in finding this vid. Love it.
Glad you enjoyed it
I have approached a few sparrowhawks close when feeding. The best time was an adult male eating a blackbird. I got to about 2 feet and he was still fine, but i put my hand out and he was off like a rocket. But he came back a few minutes later and took the blackbird away. Another time, a female was eating a young wood pigeon. She was not as tame but allowed my approach to about 2 meters before flight. She also returned for the carcass. Then afterwards , flew up to a fire tree and went to sleep for a couple of hours. She was not bothered at all by me being under the tree. They are not tame as such, but can be bold when feeding. I think they get used to people too. They often fly very close when hunting. One went nearly under my feet once as it bombed around a wall at top speed. Also i got one to fly at me by waving a hanky like a flapping bird. He got to about 3 meters before seeing me and jinking away. Usually when perched and hunting, i find they are fairly wary and wont be approached. Lovely little raptors.
Is this a Accipiter brevipes?
sounds like you know more about birds than I do so if you think it is you could well be correct.
Half correct it's accipiter nisus Eurasian sparrow hawk ( male ) . You don't get a view of a sparrow hawk like that very often lucky fella
Good vid!
thank you
Brilliant video
Thank you John glad you enjoyed irt
Born n raised in the grove
my husband, Dave, in the video came from Cedar Road
The area around the beak does not look good. It looks heavily deformed. My guess is that this bird is very ill.
As far as we know this bird regularly hunts in our garden so I think maybe he is just used to us. We often go out and shoo him away from the birds at our birdfeeder. Unless it is a different Sparrowhawk of course.
jajakakalolo well said
The birds wings are drooping the bird is not well at all
Awesome
Awesome video
all my old roads bedfont rules,,,,, bedfont close boy
Oh my goodness... I lived right on Bedfont Close too. Just found this vid!!!
my husband lived in Cedar as a child back in the 50s
I was born late 1984... lived in Bedfont on the front of the Fairholme Estate from 1992 to 2006... Up to the point before Page Road was taken down,,, it's amazing how little had changed since I was born and looked pretty much the same :O
my husband, Dave lived on Cedar Road - just down the road from you
Thanks for sharing this piece of nostalgia about Bedfont. - www.bedfont.org.uk/

Thank You for posting. I love the low level traffic flow and old stylish cars! How Isleworth has changed too! :)
It was in the hall in Southville Road where Sandbanks is or was
I saw a basketball hoop in the background. Where in Bedfont was this Breakdance party held?
Blimey! He keeps Mum and Dad busy, doesn't he?
